Chimney Sweep

We have our own chimney sweep to sweep your chimney/flue as well as the servicing of your stove, fitting and replacing cowls, re-lining of chimneys and chimney repairs.

Your chimney/flue should be swept at least once a year, ideally every three months if used constantly. This will reduce tar and creosote build up, a major cause of chimney fires.

Servicing - Your stove/appliance should be serviced once a year - this will keep it working efficiently and economically.

An appliance that is not well maintained becomes inefficient - It will produce less heat and burn more fuel, which will cause it to deteriorate and ultimately need replacing .

Burning the right fuel -

• Good - well seasoned hard wood - oak , hornbeam, ash
• Bad - soft wood - pine, fir trees, damp wood - will cause problems
  
  * Try a bag of our kiln dried wood - very low moisture content - more heat output.
